Saturday Movie[30/4] : SOURCE CODE

Wow this movie is good!! Although the premise of the plot is pretty simple, this one has more layers than Inception… Yup thats true.. Its been a month since I’ve seen this movie & It still pop ups in my mind every now and then; Since its a sci-fi flick and lots of it is left for viewers imagination & sort of like ‘ hey U cud fill in the gaps however U wish’…. I was left running to IMDB message boards to fill in the bridge gaps….
Well at the end of the film, I went along with the Alternate time line/parallel reality concept but after I tried reading others opinion on the ending, well I realized an alternate ending exists.. It could be his last 8 minutes of fantasy, which he wishes to have if the Source Code cud really do more than it was originally designed to perform… Whatev.. Everyone is left to entitle to their own opinion..

Although its in no way on the grand scale as Inception, this one is neat, simple & fast paced… I have seen Duncan Jones ‘ Moon’ & it was well crafted with jus a single guy on the forefront but I shud say I got bored in the middle…
Jake gyllenhaal has done a gud job after the prince of persia debacle!! Michelle monaghan is perfect..At first I cud not figure out, where I’ve seen her previously… Yup its DueDate or maybe Eagle Eye… She looks cool & hot!!

Monday Movie[11/4] : Rio 3D

Well I had a choice b/w this and The Adjustment Bureau.. I chose this as I was expecting something light-hearted, a little bit of fun and do not forget the extra dimension it is offering!! Moreover the reviews of the later were quite bad! Hence Rio 3D
Anyways the movie is nothing more than OK for me. I dont know why ever since I’ve seen Despicable Me, I was somewhat expecting every other animated film on the same level more or less! But this one was more of like ‘ Lets get it over with’….. Anyways the animation is good and it was fun in pieces here and there….The 3D was nothing unusual…. That’s it!!

Wednesday Movie[30/3] : SUCKER PUNCH

I am probably writing this after a long time of watching this flick & the primary reason is I am too damn lazy… I can’t believe that its jus a fuckin’ paragraph or two I bitch abt the movie & still can’t do it. Bless my lazy ass!!
Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch is out and its too bad tht it didn’t do well at the box office.. It cud atleast have reached some magic figures at the Domestic BO; Well it didn’t!! I really enjoyed the film, may be not to the fullest but yeah I like it.. I am really a sucker for slow motion stunts and graphic action which zack snyder is good at, rem’er 300 & watchmen…. Obviously he has taken it to the next level with Sucker Punch..

Saturday movie[12/3] : WORLD INVASION: BATTLE LA

Jus one word for this movy… BLACK HAWK DOWN Meets SKYLINE/WAR OF THE WORLDS…
although this does not leave much impact aftermath the film.. It was not a dud all along the way.. It was exciting in a ridicule way & definitely Aaron Echart perfected the role as a Badass Marine…
but sumhow i expected more from the aliens which I am not sure wat it was… Only the destruction & mayhem created by them played a major role whereas its not the same way in memorable alien films, maybe the District 9, my favorite War of the Worlds….

Its 2 weeks from now & I am really excited for Zack Synder’s SUCKER PUNCH….. Graphic girl action is sumthing tht sounds titillating even if the movy sucks in a big way…

Saturday Movie[05/3] : DRIVE ANGRY 3D

Well i did have quite a few choices of flicks for this weekend… HALL PASS, FAIR GAME…. Since I have a couple of my frns coming along, i thought may be a action flick wud do better… Checked the message board on IMDB & found some exciting reviews on 3D used in ths flick… Immediately I fell for it taking into account the past track record how crappy the other 3D flicks were..!!!!

As much as I am excited abt the movy.. It all drained away as soon as the movie started.. What shud I say??!…. The fucking Censor Board had trimmed all the gore,nude scenes & wats left is the film that is perfectly and undoubtedly watchable by kids… Hell yeah I am not kidding…!!!!
the movie is OK type for me… Amber Heard is perfect!!! Jus a couple of days bck I’ve seen her other suspense flick ‘And Soon The Darkness’… She & the other chick Odette Yustman were really sumthing..!!!!

Sunday Movie[13/2] : NO STRINGS ATTACHED

Well typical ashton kutcher film, I shud say…. It is perfect.. Well maybe near perfect for a romantic comedy-drama feature…..
I’ve been waiting for this film since couple of weeks as it got released in US a while ago… I’ve always been a fan of ashton kutcher’s films… since 2 of his films are in my alltime favorite list(A Lot Like Love, Guess Who)… I am not yet sure if this one made it to the list but it was cool and it was fun all along the way.. i enjoyed it.

natalie portman is cute & perfect…. Never seen her before in such type of movys., maybe thats the reason she looks so special… I specifically love her smile in all her movies..I guess she wud make a perfect ambassador for a toothpaste commercial…
the move is pretty crude and raw for its portrayal of some scenes & dialogues but in a simpler & funnier sense…. The credit goes to Ivan Reitman….

Well that’s it for this week & i had a gud time even though i had a mild fever…

Next week it’s probably gonna be ‘I Am Number FOUR’ or sumthing else, i am not sure…

Saturday Movie[06/2] : SANCTUM

Well been to SANCTUM yes’day nite show.. Not much interested to watch the flick but since there are no other releases here, I had not much of a choice left anyways….
nothing much special abt the movy.. Felt like watching a natgeo/discovery channel documentary mixed with some emotion, little bit of action and watnot… Well I didn’t watch it in 3D, didn’t feel like spending the extra bucks on the 3D factor…. I am not sure it wud’ve made a much impact with the extra dimension though.. Watever it’s an Ok type of film on my account

Hollywood : My favorite movies of 2010 as well as…!!

Hey there its been hell of a year & its goin’ to end soon…  So I jus quickly wanna scribble out wat r my favorite movies as of now…  this year has been a major disappointment from the mega-budget movies for me.. It comes as no surprise since this is  a regular trend that happens most of the time  but the one movie that  I had on my top of the lost  for a long time (even in my dreams) did not disappoint me; not even to the nano level… I know by now U’ve guessed what the movie is b’cos its the movie evryone is talking  about for most of the time even after a long time of watching it… It totally deserves the credit..

I’ve seen around 55 movys as of to date and only 5 of them cud make it t my personal favorite list…

A quite few of them cud make it to my ‘Worth-watching list’ & even there’s my favorite ‘Sucker list ‘ ; which everyone wish they had never seen ….

Favorites:

INCEPTION: This is the  movy I was talking abt above… Well  eventhough I was totally not amused by Nolan’s The Dark Knight .. I shud say I was literally waiting for this movy for a long time.. The tiny snippets of plot summary they  were releasing over the time made the movy even more longing to watch…  well the wait is totally the worth. I’ve seen this movy in the IMAX  &  i shud say I was totally engrossed in the movy all along  the movy which rarely happens… AWESOME

Highlights:  Train making its way along the traffic  in their dream world is cool

The Zero-gravity stunts of  J G Levitt is mind-blowing

THE LAST SONG: This Nicholos Sparks adaptation is the best in my choice …. frankly IDKY… Since I do love Romantic dramas a lot this one easily made its way to my list.I’ve seen this movy multiple times &  still not tired of it. I stil cant make it out wats  so special abt this movy but I love it..  Miley Cyrus is cool by the way & has  done   a decent job

DATE NIGHT: Is it b’cos I am a regular audience for the sitcoms  ’30 Rock’  & ‘The Office’ … This Steve Carrell-Tina Fey comedy  has made it to my list.. Maybe there’s  a probability but I am sure the movy totally rocks … May  be in April I guess — I  had a painful day & in agony I  ran for this movy… OMG!! this is total fun

Highlights:  Tina Fey– “they stabbed a chicken nugget with  a sharpie; these are bad people”

Steve– “And will you, for the love of God, put on a fucking shirt?”

Tina fey– “I just have to ask you one question, and do not judge me. What is a flash drive?”

DUE DATE: This Todd philips comedy is one of the best I’ve seen recently…. I had a total blast in the movy.  ALthough it’s nowhere near to ‘The hangover’ at the Boxoffice , I  shud say Personally I prefer Due date to hangover.. Downey Jr.  & Galifianakis  are totally awesome..  later I found out It was a replica of  Steve Martin’s ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ which I checked out … That was fun too…

DESPICABLE ME: Well I am not much into animation & Fantasy pics… rarely sum of them cross the barrier sort of like Finding Nemo , Wall-E , Kungfu Panda.. Well despicable me jus joined the club.. I never knew abt this movy since I saw the trailer Wen I went to watch another animated pic ‘How to train your Dragon’; which was a crap by the way.. Somehow I felt i shud watch this… And its incredibly funny all the way… This movy wud have been fine without even the 3D factor ; I guess b’cos It has the pulse…

Highlights:  Gru : We stole the Statue of Liberty… the small one from Las Vegas
Gru: You will not cry, or sneeze or barf or fart! No annoying sounds.
Agnes: Does this count as annoying?

Worth-Watching List:

Unstoppable: whoever wrote the tag-line “We r selling u a seat but u r only goin’ to use the edge of it” should be thanked… Tony Scott movys  all do have their special charm ; may be the screenplay, cinematography, breath taking action stunts or watever.. His ‘Deja Vu’ is one of my all-time favorites and Unstoppable is no exception… Good

Knight and Day: tom Cruise & Cameron diaz in a quirky comedy style flick… wat more do I need?!  It was  a fun ride

Quote: “If you follow me I will shoot myself then her!”

Toy Story III: I had to watch the earlier films inorder to watch this…  All of them are kiddish!!

Remember me: I liked this one & I have no specific reasons…!!

When in Rome: If not for kirsten Bell ; I am sure I wud never have cared for this flick .. i like her voice , kinda nasal

Clash of the Titans: this one has the momentum goin’ on & I am not bored at all…

Sucker list:

Alice in Wonderland: This was my most anticipated movys of the year till I saw this boring crappy film

Iron man II: Making  a sequel for namesake results in this particular feature film

The Karate Kid: No offence but I truly hated this one..

Skyline: I was expecting  something  more  to happen in the movy wen al of a sudden the end-credits rolled…

So thats it for 2010 & lets wait for the 2011 to rock
